How to Provide Login Assistance using Access Codes
Last updated October 31, 2022
Event admins can generate Access Codes in the backoffice to help registered participants login and enter both virtual and in-person events.
This new feature serves as a backup option in case attendees do not receive the platform's invitation emails.
Use cases:
- An attendee registered in the event backoffice is not receiving login/invitation emails
- A registered attendee does not have access to their registered email inbox
- The login link opens the event in a mobile browser instead of the app
Requirements:
- The attendee must have a roster profile (be a listed registrant for an event) in the backoffice
- The Authentication Instructions field must be filled out in the backoffice (Please see: Authentication and troubleshooting Instructions)
- For app users, they must have a version of the app installed that is 2022.v6 or above
Note: please verify the identity of the user for which you are giving access. One simple method may be to check if the user requesting help is using an email address that matches the registrant email address in the backoffice.
How to Generate an Access Code/Login Link
Generating an access code/login link is easy:
- Select the registrant profile of the user that is requesting assistance in the backoffice and click "Login Assistance":

- Choose either of the following options:
- Generate Login Link - for virtual events that use the public site (link valid for 15 minutes) or
- Generate Access Code - for in-person events that utilize the app (code valid for 60 minutes)

- Copy the code or URL and share it with the user:

Using Access Codes and URLs (For Attendees)
For virtual events on the desktop experience, users can simply login by clicking on the Login Link to be directed to the correct event.
For mobile apps, users can either:
- Select the "Log In with an Access Code" option in the login screen and enter the code or:

- Tap the "Enter Access Code" button on the event selection screen for the organization:
