Event Basics and Styling

Last updated June 12, 2023

Once you've selected your template to create your new event, you'll be presented with a form to capture basic event information and details. This form creates an event framework that can be edited indefinitely.  Below are helpful tips to get you started.

Basics:

  • Event Name- For the name of your event, we recommend using 16 characters or fewer.
  • First and Last day of the event- The dates entered in the First Day of Event field and the Last Day of Event field do not prohibit you from including education sessions outside of the provided date range. For example, your event could include a Board Meeting prior to your event start date. It is okay to add the Board Meeting even though the date falls outside of the provided date range.
  • Time Zone- A required fieldDepending if your event is in-person or virtual, you can choose to allow attendees to view the schedule in the venue's timezone or to have the option of viewing the schedule in their own time zone.
  • Designated Support Email Address- A is a required field. This email will be used for attendees to contact if they have any event questions that are not related to the platform.
  • Venue- where the event will be held
  • City and State- The physical location of the event, if applicable.
  • Search Keywords are a way for users to find your event. This allows you to use other words or acronyms your attendees may search for when looking for this event.
  • Event Description will give your attendees a summary of your event. Let your attendees know what to expect and look forward to.
  • Event Logo is the image pictured and circled below. This image can be seen when users search to select your event (left) and on the event details page (right).

Styling:

  • Accent Color can be used to brand your event app and website. You will want to choose a color that contrasts well with white text. You can use this tool to find a HTML color code that suits your event.

  • Mobile App Theme is used to add an extra design element to your mobile app. We have 5 different options for you to choose from that are pictured below. Custom images cannot be added as an option.

  • Website Background will be the theme for the desktop version of your event. We have 9 hardcoded options for you to choose from or you can choose to upload your own custom image for additional branding.
