Exporting Data to Print Badges in Bulk Using Avery

  • This information is provided for example purposes.

  • This suggestion is optimized for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox web browsers. The use of Safari or Internet Explorer may yield unwanted results.
  1. Navigate to the Listed Registrants tab in the back office and using the Upload/Download data function, download attendee information via .csv.
  2. Visit Avery Design & Print Online and select Templates then Avery Design & Print (this option does require admins to create a free account).
  3. In the Design Center select Name Tags & Badges
    • Search through the available templates until the badges sized 3X4 or 4X3 are visible
    • Select the template of your choice
  4. Select the design that best reflects the event. For this example, we will use the blank design.
  5. Once the design has been selected, on the left, choose Import Data Mail Merge.
    • Click Start Import/Merge
    • Browse for the .csv file that was downloaded from the backoffice
      • The upload functionality does have restrictions that may require edits to the registrant .csv file before upload
      • The suggested fields to keep in the .csv file for upload are First Name, Last Name, Company, Title, and QR code URL ("Badge QR Barcode Content")
  6. Once the file has been uploaded, selected the fields with the information that will be displayed on the badge.
  7. Arrange the fields as desired, click Next and then Finish. (Do Not include the Badge QR Barcode filed in this step).
  8. Next, add the registrant QR codes to the badges by navigating to More on the left-hand-side and click on QR and Barcodes.
  9. Click on Add Barcode or QR code and select how you would like to provide your data.
  10. For this example we will use Spreadsheet or Sequential Number to utilize the QR code URL from the .csv file.
  11. To insert the QR code;
    • Drag and drop the Badge QR Barcode into the Website field box
    • Select QRCode for the Industry Standard Format
    • Select URL for the Code Type
    • Select Finish to save the changes
  12. Registrant data and the QR code should now be visible within the badge template and and additional customization can begin.

If you need additional information from Avery feel free to check out the Avery Template Help Center. (The badge layout and design in the back office cannot be transferred to Avery for bulk printing. )
