Virtual Sponsor Passport Game

Purpose

Creating engagement is a major objective at any event, and it is even more valuable during your virtual conferences. If you can incorporate some fun and friendly competition, well that's even better! The purpose of the Virtual Sponsor Game is to encourage attendees to connect with sponsors before and during your virtual meeting in a fun and engaging way. This game is a virtual combination of a Passport Game and Trivia Contest and provides ROI for sponsors both in BRAND AWARENESS and the GENERATION OF LEADS.

Game Details

The game is simple and can be configured in variety of different ways to meet the unique needs of your event.

  • Basic Game
    • Attendees play by simply visiting an exhibitor and clicking the "Contact" button.
    • Prizes awarded to attendees who visit sponsors
    • This sends leads directly to the sponsor and populates a backoffice report for the event organizer
  • Advanced Game
    • Same as above except that each exhibitor has a quiz question on their page and the attendee must enter in the answer to be eligible.
    • Answers can be found in the exhibitors summary or alternatively in their embedded video
    • Note: This version provides extra value to sponsors as attendees are encouraged to learn about sponsors products and services

  • Prizes
    • Sponsors Select Winners [Best Option]
      • Allow each sponsor to pick their own winner and give away their own prize.
      • This gives sponsors greater control, delegates the effort away from staff, and allows for some fantastic visibility
      • Sponsor goes through the leads they were sent and chooses a winner
      • Event organizer can then send out an announcement for each participating sponsor highlighting the winner and the sponsors services. This should be send via notification and email which gives additional visibility to the sponsors
      • Attendees will pay attention to the messaging because they are excited to see who has won
    • Organizer chooses winners.
      • This is simple. At the end of the event, the organizer downloads the exhibitor leads list which shows all attendees who participated and which sponsors they visited. All the organizer needs to do is choose a row at random, verify the attendee got the correct answer and give away the prize. Repeat for multiple prizes. The incentive to attendees is the more sponsors they visit the better their chances of winning.

Keys to success

  • This must add value to the attendees or they won't play
  • Don't force attendees to visit everyone to win when their needs don't align with the sponsors product offerings
  • (*We don't recommend forcing attendees to visit every sponsor to win or giving prizes to the person who visits the most sponsors as that may waste the time of the attendee and sponsor when the goal is to create business opportunities)
  • Make it easy to determine what sponsors do in the list view (use tagging and filtering)
  • The better the prizes the more likely people will play
  • Allow for sponsors to pick the winners who answered their question to offset work of "Judging"
  • Create a menu item explaining how to play
  • Use notifications/emails to communicate rules, encourage play, and announce winners (extra visibility for sponsors)

Welcome to the 2021 Annual Conference (Virtual) Sponsor Passport Game!

The rules are simple:

  1. VISIT SPONSORS: Each participating sponsor has a "Passport Question" displayed on their company page.
  2. ANSWER GAME QUESTION: To play, simply click the "Contact" button on the sponsor's page and enter the correct answer. [Tip: Answers are typical found in the sponsors company description]
  3. MAXIMIZE YOUR CHANCES: Each sponsor will be conducting a random drawing, so the more sponsors you visit the more chances you have to win!
  4. CHECK TO SEE IF YOU'VE WON: We will be announcing winners on the notification page of the platform on the last day of the event.

Steps to Set Up

  1. Write up menu item with rules
  2. Collect questions from sponsors and include in their sponsor description
  3. Make sure "Display contact buttons on exhibitor details?" is set to yes on the event edit page
  4. Make sure each sponsor has provided an email address where entries (leads) should go
  5. Determine prizes and share with attendees via the menu item and via notification/email
  6. Schedule a few encouraging notifications
  7. Plan to collect the names of winners from sponsors along with prizes to send out as branded notifications/emails
  8. Have fun!
